If you are looking for a peaceful beach vacation on
a secluded beach in Goa, then Palolem Beach
is the place for you. This lovely South Goa beach is
2-km west of Chaudi, in Canacona District and is about
37 km from Margao, the main railway station in Goa.
Palolem is popularly known as Paradise Beach and is
about a mile long. Its sparkling white sands fringe
a crescent shaped bay. Bordered by swaying coconut palms,
the steep rugged cliffs at its two ends have kept it
a relatively secluded beach. It was an unknown pocket
of Goa till recently and even today is quite deserted.
A little fresh water stream at the northern end of
Palolem Beach adds to its charm. Across
this is a small virgin island which can be accessed
during low tide by just swimming across the calm waters.
It is easy to understand why Palolem Beach
is known as Paradise Beach when you watch the sun dip
into the Arabian Sea against this picturesque backdrop.
There are an increasing number of food shacks and
stalls that have sprung up on Palolem Beach.
You can enjoy the catch of the day with some chilled
beer while you laze on the silver sands. As you move
further south on the beach there are fewer shacks and
you have the sun, sea and sands all to yourself.
If you are looking for a little action you can visit
the nearby Agonda Beach or Chaudi .A popular means of
transport here is the motor bike taxi where the rider
takes you pillion on his motorbike wherever you want!
You can also hire the motor bike for your own use if
you want to get around independently.
Palolem Beach is the place to enjoy
the adventure of going out into the sea on a small fishing
boat. The local fishermen will be happy to take you
out fishing with them. Another thrill is going on a
dolphin watch on one of the tiny boats. New Age Tours
can plan a Goa package for you, including Palolem
Beach. Book online today!
